The story behind the app

It started with one argument I couldn’t win any other way

Jon Shilalis, founder of DISCpute Resolve, with his two sons

I’m Jon Shilalis, and I’m a single dad to two little toddlers here in Florida. A while back, my ex and I got into a dispute over something that sounds small but didn’t feel small at all — whether a baby bottle should still be used for one of our kids. We were going in circles. I tried the regular AI tools everyone has, and they just couldn’t help: they couldn’t take in both of our voices, they couldn’t tell who was who, and they kept validating both of us instead of actually working the problem.

So I built something that could. DISCpute listens to both people, understands who’s saying what, factors in how each of us communicates, and walks us toward an actual resolution. And it worked — for a real problem, in my real life. My ex and I still use it to settle arguments as they come up while we co-parent. That’s when I knew other people deserved the same thing.

My background is in business management and real estate development — I used to own a real estate brokerage, and today I run a couple of startups. Somewhere along the way I fell in love with using AI for anything and everything, and that’s what made this possible. I’m an independent founder, and I built this entire app myself with AI over the last five months — every screen, every feature. When you use DISCpute, you’re not using something churned out by a faceless company. You’re using something one dad built because it genuinely helped his family, and he wanted it to help yours too.

My promise to you: I read every piece of feedback and I’ll always reach back out. And if you’re ever not happy, I’ll refund you — no hard feelings. This is a labor of love and I’m improving it constantly. Thank you for giving it a try.
